Four firefighters from the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department were deployed to Kern County Friday to assist with the Erskine Fire, according to fire officials.

Fire officials said around 4:30 p.m. firefighters were sent to help with the fire near Lake Isabella after Gov. Jerry Brown issued a state of emergency for Kern County.

As of Friday evening, the fire had burned 30,000 acres and destroyed 100 homes. Two people have also died as a result of the fire.

A total of 22 firefighters from around the Bay Area, including the four from Livermore-Pleasanton, responded to the call.
