SANTA ROSA (KRON) — The Santa Rosa fire department along with other Bay Area cities are reminding residents that the use of fireworks are banned for the upcoming holiday.
According to the Santa Rosa fire department, both “safe and sane” and dangerous fireworks pose a threat to the nearby wildlife area. Vegetation fire can result with the use of fireworks.
In a statement provided by the fire department, anyone caught using fireworks could receive a citation anywhere from $500 to $1,000 dollars, and even a possible arrest given the circumstance.
The City of Santa Rosa is not the only city to put a ban on fireworks.
The city of San Francisco, Fremont and Palo Alto have also banned their use.
Fire and police department are hoping that everyone can enjoy their holiday safely and attend local events that are permitted to use fireworks.
