REGIONAL (KRON) — Service between Concord and Pleasant Hill has been restored this afternoon after a train hit a solar panel and shut down service between the two stations.
BART service was stopped at 2:02 p.m. between Pleasant Hill and Concord on the Pittsburg/Bay Point Line in the Pittsburg/Bay Point and SFO directions due to an equipment problem on a train which was a solar panel that was stuck under the train.
BART service was restored at 2:28 p.m. according to BART spokesperson Jim Allison.
It’s not clear how or why the train hit the panel and caused the panel to be stuck under the train, BART spokesperson Taylor Huckaby said.Bay City News contributed to this report.
