CONCORD (BCN) — BART will hold a community meeting Wednesday evening to gather

public input on long-term changes to the Concord BART station.

While BART already has plans to upgrade the station’s pedestrian

plaza and add a new bike station, the transit agency is deciding what other

long-term improvements could be made, BART officials said.

The improvements are part of BART’s overall Station Modernization

Program, an investment into existing stations including stations in downtown

San Francisco, the 19th Street station in Oakland and the El Cerrito Del

Norte station.

At Wednesday’s public meeting, attendees are being asked to rank

the issues most important to them such as improved cleanliness, more stairs

and escalators, better pedestrian and bicycle access and clearer directional

signs, BART officials said.

The meeting will be held at the Willow Pass Community Center at

2748 E. Olivera Road in Concord starting at 7:30 p.m.

Anyone not able to attend the meeting can complete an online

survey to share their input. That survey as well as more information about

the project is available at www.bart.gov/about/planning/contracosta/concord
