SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — BART experienced the busiest weekend day ever in BART history on Saturday.

BART safely carried at least 419,162 riders Saturday, February 7th, according to BART official James Allison.

The record shattered the previous record of about 319,000 that was set in October 2012.

It’s not too late for fans to come to Super Bowl City via BART. Parking is free, trains beginning running around 8 a.m., giving fans plenty of time to get in line for the Super Bowl City’s 11 a.m. opening time.

BART will run longer trains again on Super Bowl Sunday. Some Dublin/Pleasanton to Daly City trains will coordinate their schedules with Levi’s Stadium-bound Capitol Corridor trains at Coliseum Station. VTA will run express service from the Fremont BART Station to the stadium.

If you plan to take one of VTA’s special trains to Levi’s Stadium on Feb. 7, you must have a ticket purchased on your smartphone VTA’s EventTIK mobile app.
