WALNUT CREEK (KRON) — BART trains at the Walnut Creek station are up and running again after a man yelling out threats forced a stoppage in service, according to BART police.
Police responded around 9:10 a.m. after receiving a report about the incident, Lt. randy Gregson said.
The suspect was threatening passengers on the platform, claiming he had a gun.
He is described as a white man wearing a dark jacket. Police say he appeared to be homeless.
BART police shutdown the trains to conduct a search on the train, the platform, and the area surrounding the station. This caused just a ten minute delay on the Pittsburg/Bay Point Line in the San Francisco International Airport and Millbrae directions, BART officials said.
No one was hurt in the incident, police said.
No gun was found, nor was anyone found who matched the description of the suspect.
Service has since been recovered.
