OAKLAND (KRON) — BART trains are no longer bypassing the 19th Street station in Oakland Tuesday morning due to police activity, BART officials said.

A suspicious package found near the entrance to the 19th Street station has been deemed safe, according to BART police.

BART first made the announcement at about 11 a.m. on Twitter.

BART spokesman Jim Alison said a suspicious package was found near the 20th Street entrance to the station and BART police brought in a dog to determine if the package was dangerous.

The bomb-sniffing dog determined the package was not a bomb as of about 11:30 a.m.
