SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — BART service has been re-opened at San Francisco’s Civic Center after a person was struck by a train and killed,

BART officials said.

At 10:08 a.m. emergency dispatchers were called about a person under a train at the Civic Center station.

San Francisco Municipal Railway (MUNI) buses and light-rail vehicles are back to their regular schedules and commuters can continue as they normally would.

During the incident trains ran through the station without stopping and officials say passengers experienced delays up to 40 minutes.

The station reopened shortly before 1 p.m., but major delays persist system-wide, BART officials said.
