MILPITAS (KRON) — Auto theft suspects were arrested in Milpitas early Saturday morning.

On June 4th at approximately 4:27 a.m., a Milpitas Police Officer was conducting patrol checks for auto burglars at the Embassy Suite Hotel located at 901 E. Calaveras Blvd.

The officer saw two suspicious people, later identified as Samuel Steven Hernandez, 23-year-old Transient, and Marco Antonio Castro, 23-year-old San Jose Resident, sitting in a black Ford Crown Victoria.

The officer checked the license plates and found the vehicle had been reported stolen out of San Jose.

Officers conducted a high-risk stop and both suspects were taken into custody.

After further investigation, the officer located burglary tools and a small amount of methamphetamine inside the car.

Hernandez was transported and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for auto theft with prior convictions, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of burglary tool.

Castro was transported and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for auto theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of burglary tools.
