Police are asking for your help locating an attempted murder suspect in the stabbing of an elderly woman in Berkeley overnight.
It happened just before 3 a.m. at a home in the area of Edith and Vine Streets.
Police say they received a report of a woman screaming for help.
At the scene, officers found the woman in her 70’s with stab wounds.
The suspect has been identified as 42-year-old Mark Edward Jekabson. He is described as 5’11”, 160 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. It is important to note Jekabson is clean shaven now compared to his mugshot photo.
Police say Jekabson is known to visit Live Oak Park and the Solano Avenue corridor.
Jekabson should be considered armed and dangerous.
