ATHERTON (KRON) — An attempted kidnapping was reported on Saturday, according to Atherton police.
Police said it happened at around 2 a.m. Saturday on Middlefield Road near Oak Grove Avenue. A 24-year-old woman told police her screams drove off a man attempted to abduct her.
The woman was waiting for a bus when a man driving a four-door sedan drove by her several times, solicited her for sex, and then got out of the car and chased her down, police said. The man then grabbed her while she was on her cellphone reporting the incident, according to officers.
Police are still searching for the man.
