UPDATE: Officers have determined the reported attempted kidnapping of a Fairfield teen Tuesday was a hoax.
FAIRFIELD (KRON) – Police are warning area residents of a man that allegedly attempted to kidnap a teenage girl Tuesday morning in Fairfield.
The girl, who is in her early teens, was walking alone in around East Tabor and Sunset avenues around 9 a.m. when a man called out to her from behind, grabbed her and attempted to pull her toward the creek, police said.
The girl struggled, got free and escaped. The attacker ran away to the north toward the creek, according to police.
Authorities were notified about the incident later in the day, around 4:20 p.m.
The victim also said the same suspect attempted to lure her and some under-aged friends with alcohol on Sunday in Suisun City, but they ran away, police said.
The suspect is described as a white or bi-racial bald man in his late 30s. He has a medium build and stands 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall. He was last seen wearing a black and silver Raiders hat, a red shirt with an LRG logo and dirty, dark colored jeans, according to police.
The case remains under investigation and officials at the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District and Suisun City Police department have been notified.
