UPDATE: At least six earthquakes shook the San Jose area on Tuesday night.
A 3.2 magnitude quake just hit near Alum Rock at around 8:51 p.m. in San Jose.
About one minute later, a 1.0 magnitude earthquake shook the South Bay at around 8:52 p.m. That was centered 7 miles east-southeast.
Just after 8:53 p.m., a 1.1 struck also 7 miles east-southeast of the Alum Rock area.
SAN JOSE (KRON) — Three small earthquakes hit the San Jose Area on Tuesday night, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The first quake registered at a magnitude 2.7 at around 8:23 p.m., about 7 miles east-southeast of the Alum Rock area. This quake had a depth of 4.7 miles.
The next quake, a magnitude 1.4, struck at around 8:32 p.m. It was centered 7 miles east of the Alum Rock area.
The most-recent earthquake, a 2.4, hit about 6 miles east of the Alum Rock area.
