MONTEREY (KRON) — An assistant football coach at Monterey High School was arrested Monday on suspicion of having unlawful sex with a minor, Monterey police said.

Austin Sinclair Love, 30, was taken into custody at 100 Herrmann Drive after an investigation by Monterey police detectives.

He started working as a campus monitor and assistant football coach at the school in August, police said.

Love previously volunteered with the Village Project Inc. in Seaside, a nonprofit founded to help the underserved black community in the area, police said.
