CUPERTINO (KRON) — Apple announced on Monday that they plan to replace the gun emoji with a water gun emoji, according to CNN Money.
The change will affect all phones with the new iOS 10 software update.
The organization called New Yorkers against Gun Violence is responsible for the change.
They started a campaign last year demanding the tech company to get rid of the gun and pistol emoji.
Apple said more than 100 new and redesigned emojis will be coming this fall.
“Apple has stood up to the bullying tactics of the NRA and gun industry by showing that there are many more life-affirming ways to express oneself than with a gun,” said Leah Barrett, NYAGV’s Executive Director.
