HAYWARD (KRON) — The man who was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon while stopped at an intersection in Hayward has been identified.
Adan Katami, a 38-year-old resident from Antioch, was stopped at an intersection on the corner of Blossom Way and Meekland Avenue just around 1 p.m. when a gunman approached his car and shot him, sheriff’s Sgt. Ray Kelly said.
The gunman fled the scene on foot. Sheriff’s deputies set up a perimeter and used dogs and a helicopter to search for the suspect.
The suspect later surrendered about a half-mile from the crime scene, police said.
A second suspect was also arrested, a woman who is accused of driving the gunman to the scene.
The gun has not been recovered.
