ANTIOCH (BCN) — A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of two armed robberies in Antioch, according to police.
At 11:51 p.m. on Aug. 10, police responded to a “hold-up” alarm at the 7 Eleven store at 3701 Sunset Lane.
The clerk said he had been robbed at gunpoint, and that the suspect had come behind the counter and stolen cigarettes, personal items from the clerk’s pockets and cash from the register.
Investigators identified Raymond Greene, who is on probation for a prior robbery conviction, as the suspect.
A week later, an officer was dispatched to investigate a reported armed robbery that had occurred at 8:30 p.m. the day before.
The victim had been walking on Bellflower Drive when the suspect approached him and robbed him at gunpoint.
The victim knew Greene from prior contacts and identified him as the robber.
At Greene’s next scheduled meeting with his probation officer, he was taken into custody without incident. Police searched Greene’s home on Baywood Circle and recovered evidence linking him to the two robberies.
Greene was booked into the county jail, police said.
