ANTIOCH (KRON)—Eight people including children have been displaced from a house fire in Antioch Saturday morning, according to fire officials.

The fire broke out around 11:40 a.m. at a home on Evergreen Avenue, Contra Costa Fire Protection District Fire Marshal Robert Marshall said.

Fire crews noticed heavy smoke coming from the front and back of the home. When firefighters came closer, they noticed flames coming from the back.

The fire was under control by noon, Marshall said.

None of the residents inside the home were injured, but a dog was killed in the fire.

Three children and five adults were displaced.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but investigators believe the fire might have started in a bathroom, according to Marshall.

The fire caused extensive damage throughout the home that could cost about $220,000, Marshall said.
