SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — AMC Theatres quickly terminated the idea to allow people to text during movies.
AMC CEO Adam Aron had previously mentioned that they were considering lifting the texting ban.
After outrage from moviegoers all over the nation, AMC tweeted Friday: “NO TEXTING AT AMC. Won’t happen. You spoke. We listened. Quickly, that idea has been sent to the cutting room floor.”

The idea came about as the company looked for ways to reshape the movie-going experience so that millennials go to movie theaters as often as baby boomers did before them. They thought making it more texting-friendly would help, but others did not agree.
#Stockadvice dump #AMC .@CEOAdam Adam Aron must be an idiot if he thinks more txting in theater is a smart idea https://t.co/TurGYAlfnq— Brian Erzen (@ErzenDesign) April 14, 2016
