Amber Alert cancelled after teen found safe in Pleasant Hill

An Amber Alert issued for a 16-year-old girl abducted in Hayward on Tuesday afternoon has been canceled after the girl was found safe in Pleasant Hill.

Deputies say Isabelle Epps was abducted by Antonio Aguilarelizarrag at around 2 p.m. Her family received a distressed call from her that she was taken by the suspect and feared for her life.

Just after 6 p.m., Pittsburg PD said they had located and detained Aguilarelizarrag and the car was recovered, but Epps was missing.

Authorities reported just before 7 p.m. that Isabelle was located and found safe at the Pleasant Hill BART station.

Shortly after, she was found at the Pleasant Hill BART station when she asked someone there to use their phone and call for help.

It was first believed the victim and suspect know one another, but the family of the teen said they don’t know him.

Police are treating this as a kidnapping.

The suspect and victim are both Hayward residents, deputies said.

The suspect has no criminal history.

Epps will be reunited with her family on Wednesday night.
