All Starbucks employees get raise

SEATTLE (KRON) — There were likely some happy employees at your Starbucks on Monday morning.

Pay raises between 5 and 15 percent took effect on Monday for 157,000 workers in the United States.

This summer, Starbucks announced base pay hikes of at least 5 percent for employees at company-owned stores.

Also, there was a doubling of company stock awards for workers of two years or more.

Salary tracking website Glassdoor said employees average $9.35 an hour, with shift supervisors averaging more than $11 an hour.

Customers might be helping to cover some of the pay raises.

In July, Starbucks raised the price of some of its drinks up to as much as 30 cents.
