OAKLAND (KRON) — KRON has learned on Monday night that an investigator with the Alameda County District Attorney’s office has been put on administrative leave in connection with inappropriate text messages, according to a district attorney’s spokeswoman.
KRON is working to confirm the name of the investigator.
The action was taken on Monday, and KRON sources said that he used to be an Oakland police officer.
The district attorney’s office told KRON Monday night the inspector was not placed on leave in connection with the sex scandal.
“An inspector was placed on administrative leave pending our full review of the facts. This does not have to do with the sexual misconduct investigation,” district attorney’s office spokeswoman Teresa Drenick said.
Drenick clarified that this is related to the Oakland police inappropriate text messaging investigation.
Last week, KRON learned Rick Orozco, another investigator with the district attorney’s office, was put on leave in connection with the Oakland sex scandal case.
