OAKLAND (KRON) — Love is in the air! The Alameda County Clerk’s office will be open Valentine’s Day, to perform wedding ceremonies and other public services, according to county officials.
This year Feb. 14 falls on a Saturday, which is outside of the office’s usual business hours, but Alameda County Auditor Controller/Clerk-Recorder Steve Manning said in a statement that the holiday is always busy on Valentine’s Day because of a large number of couples wanting to get married.
Public marriage licenses cost $81 and confidential marriage licenses are available for $90. There is an additional $17 fee for a certified copy of the completed marriage certificate.
The Clerk-Recorder’s Office also has a wedding room on the second floor available on a first-come, first served basis for $75. Reservations are strongly encouraged, county officials said.
The office is located at 1106 Madison St. in Oakland.
