One lane of the Posey Tube in Alameda will be closed for at least a week due to a major sinkhole, according to Alameda Public Works.
The failure of a storm drain at the tube’s exit is what caused the sinkhole to form, officials said Saturday.
Repairs will take at least a week, and one lane in the tube will stay closed during this time.
Drivers should plan ahead for significant delays leaving Alameda.
Officials are advising the public to use alternative routes.
