FREMONT (KRON)– California Highway Patrol was on the scene of a traffic collision on southbound Interstate 880 in Fremont early Wednesday morning.

The accident was reported around 5:02 a.m. near the Stevens exit onto the onramp.

KRON4’s Will Tran spoke to a CHP officer and was told the accident was not weather related.

The driver had a preexisting medical condition that caused him to drift to the area he crashed into.

The driver was transported to the hospital, but CHP said his current condition does not look good.
