AAA reports hit-and-run deaths are on the rise and have hit a record high. According to the AAA Foundation for traffic safety, more than one hit-and-run crash happens every minute in the United States.
In 2016, hit-and-runs caused more than 2,000 deaths. The majority of those killed were bicyclists and pedestrians.
AAA is urging drivers to state alert and never leave a crash scene – which is illegal regardless of who caused the accident.
