A San Francisco man was arrested during a Klu Klux Klan protest in Anaheim

(BCN) – A 51-year-old San Francisco man was arrested Saturday and later released in Anaheim after a Klu Klux Klan protest became violent, police said.

Charles Donner was arrested shortly after 12:10 p.m. on the south side of Pearson Park when 30 counter protesters confronted six KKK members.


Counter protesters stomped two KKK members on the ground and some KKK members stabbed three counter protesters, according to police. One of the stabbing victims was taken to a hospital in critical condition and the person’s condition has been upgraded to stable.

The two other stabbing victims were in stable condition, police said.

One of the stomped KKK members went to a hospital in stable condition. The other suffered minor injuries and denied treatment, according to police.

Donner was one of the six KKK members and arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, police said. Donner was booked into the city jail on $25,000 bail.

Four other KKK members were arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

Seven of the counter protesters were arrested on suspicion of assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury.

All of those arrested were adults except for one juvenile who was part of the counter protester’s group.

Four people initially arrested were released after police conducted an investigation.
