VALLEJO (BCN) — A 65-year-old man died after being struck by a pickup truck while crossing a street in Vallejo Friday night, according to police.

The crash was reported at 9:24 p.m. at the intersection of Sonoma Boulevard and Capital Street, where officers found that the victim had been struck by a Toyota truck.

The pedestrian was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, police said, but he has been identified as a resident of Vallejo. The driver, a 57-year-old Vallejo resident, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators before being released, according to police.
