SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) — A 97-year-old driver lost control of a vehicle and crashed into a fence in South San Francisco Saturday evening, police said.

Officers were dispatched to an address in the 200 block of Hilton Avenue at 6:35 p.m. Saturday on report of a vehicle that had crashed into a residential structure.

On arrival, however, officers determined that the vehicle had crashed through a fence and come to rest in a yard – but the vehicle had not crashed into the residence, according to police.

Investigators determined that the driver, an elderly Daly City resident, had veered off the road after becoming disoriented, police said.

The vehicle occupants were transported to a hospital with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening.
