89-year-old man killed in rollover crash identified

MONTEREY COUNTY (BCN) — An 89-year-old man who was killed in a rollover crash in unincorporated Carmel-By-The-Sea on Wednesday has been identified as 89-year-old Theodore Twissleman, according to the Monterey County coroner’s office.

Around 3:40 p.m. Wednesday, Twissleman was driving a three-wheeled motor dirt bike and collecting wood on private property off of Paso Venado, near Aguajito Road, California Highway Patrol Officer Oscar Loza said.

The bike rolled over and ran over the 89-year-old, Loza said. Emergency crews responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene about 10 minutes later, according to Loza.

Twissleman was a Carmel resident, according to the coroner’s office.

Investigators do not believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, Loza said.
