SANTA CLARA COUNTY (KRON) — Police are searching for two suspects after an 88-year-old woman was beaten in her East San Jose home Monday night during a home invasion robbery.

Deputies responded to a report of a woman beaten at a home in the 200 block of North Cragmont Avenue shortly before 8 p.m., according to Santa Clara County Sheriff’s officials.

Deputies found the woman severely beaten. Her home where she lives alone was ransacked. She was robbed of the jewelry she had been wearing and her car was taken from her garage.

The woman was taken to a hospital where she was placed in an intensive care unit for significant head and facial trauma, according to authorities.

Investigators collected evidence and are looking for security video from home surveillance systems in the area.
