MENLO PARK (KRON) — An 86-year-old woman has died after she was struck by a vehicle while crossing a Menlo Park street, investigators said on Friday.
The collision happened at about 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, as Emiko Chen was walking at the intersection of El Camino Real and Alejandra Avenue, according to investigators.
Chen was taken to Stanford Medical Center, where she died from her injuries, police said.
The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and was interviewed. He was released pending an ongoing investigation, according to police.
Investigators say during the course of the incident, no 911 call was ever placed so officers haven’t been able to locate any witnesses.
