82-year-old woman gets run over by own vehicle

PETALUMA (KRON) —  Officers in Petaluma responded to an 82-year-old woman who was seriously injured Friday when she fell from her vehicle and was then run over by the vehicle.

Around 11:22 p.m. officers responded to a report of an 82-year-old woman who was lying in the roadway on Ely Boulevard South, north of Frates Road.


The woman, a Petaluma resident, had suffered major trauma to her left leg, police said.

Her vehicle, a 2000 Honda CRV, was stopped on a grass area on the west side of Ely Boulevard South about 50 feet north of where the injured woman was located.

Police determined the woman stopped her vehicle near the intersection of Ely Boulevard South and Frates Road and for an unknown reason, got out of her vehicle and either fell or got pulled under the

driver’s side front tire, police said.

The woman was transported to the hospital due to the injury suffered to her left leg.
