LITTLE ROCK, AR (KARK)– An 8-year-old in Arkansas is fighting cancer and soon she may also be fighting paparazzi.

In less than 48 hours, more than 22,000 people have shared her mother’s Facebook post. It inched towards a *million* views in less than two days.

KRON4’s sister station KARK caught up with the kid who’s using a social media challenge to inspire people around the world.

The “Kiki Challenge” essentially is people dancing to a new, popular hip-hop song outside their cars. But when this 8-year-old saw it online during her chemo treatments she decided to take that craze and inspire other patients.

Cancer. Chemo. Nothing can keep Abigail Lewis from the new craze- the “Kiki Challenge” inside Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

“My goal really was to get some people in the hospital like up and going because some people are just like ‘uh,'” Abigail told us.

She showed us how it the dance is done in Downtown Little Rock before it’s back to battling a rare cancer at home in Bentonville.

“Whenever I woke up I was just ‘uh.’ Then I was like ‘what!” Abigail said.

Her mother Alyssa Lewis laughed as she said, “Almost make me feel like ‘uh what did I just do?'”

Alyssa’s Facebook post of her daughter’s version of the challenge hit nearly a million views and more than 22,000 shares in less than 2 days.

Her mother said, “She’s like ‘I’m working on a surprise.’ and I was like the nurses asked ‘for who? you?’ And she’s like ‘for the world.'”

“Just know that you’re going to get through this because there might be a surprise for you whenever you’re done,” Abigail said.

Too sick to stomach the chips she wanted Sunday, somehow  Abigail’s smile and resilience still shined.

Her mother said, “If we can get up and moving and she has energy to do something like that let’s inspire others to at least smile or see the light at the end of the tunnel.”

One challenge now was conquered.

The 8-year-old said, “Thank you for writing this song to make (the) goal. I mean come we always need a goal.”

It may be a challenge tat will help her conquer the next challenge ahead.

Lewis said at this point it appears Abigail will being fighting cancer and undergoing treatments for cancer for about another year.

She said doctors found a rare sarcoma cancer in her daughter’s back after Abigail complained of back pain in February 2018.
