Eight defendants involved in a Petaluma home invasion robbery in March are now in federal custody. 

According to the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office, all eight defendants, who are expected to appear in federal court Wednesday afternoon, were indicted on April 26 on charges related to the March 12 robbery. 

The eight defendants — 20-year-old Chrishawn Beal of North Carolina; 28-year-old Jaray Simmons of North Carolina; 28-year-old Ladarell of North Carolina; 19-year-old Melvin Corbin of Virginia; 20-year-old Romello Jones of Virginia; 22-year-old Nakia Jones of Virginia; 21-year-old Siddiq Abdullah of Virginia; 19-year-old Jade Johnson of North Carolina — are currently charged for kidnapping, robbery, false imprisonment, residential burglary, and assault with a firearm. 

Warrants have been issued for each of the defendants in the amount of $1.4 million.
