PHILIPPINES (KRON) — The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting a 7.2 magnitude earthquake on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines.
The agency says the quake hit at approximately 7:39 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.
The earthquake was 49 kilometers deep.
The National Weather Service has issued a potential tsunami threat in Indonesia and the Philippines because of the quake.
The California Office of Emergency Services says there is no tsunami threat for the West Coast.
