WATSONVILLE (BCN) — Police are looking for the driver of a white van allegedly involved in a hit-and-run crash that severely injured a 60-year-old woman in Watsonville Saturday night.
The incident was reported at 10:22 p.m. on East Lake Avenue at Palm Avenue.
The pedestrian was crossing East Lake Avenue when she was struck by a Ford Windstar, according to a witness statement from another driver.
The suspect stopped and got out of the vehicle, then drove off after seeing the victim on the ground suffering from severe injuries.
He was described as a Hispanic man, roughly 25 years old, wearing a black sweatshirt. The van he was driving may have had a right taillight out, and investigators say there may be damage to the front bumper and hood.
