NEW YORK (KRON) — CBS News is reporting that longtime “60 Minutes” correspondent Bob Simon died in car accident in New York City.
The award-winning newsman was 73, according to CBS News.
Citing sources, the New York Post is reporting that Simon died when the Lincoln Town Car he was riding in crashed with a Mercedes and then lost control and plowed into a pedestrian expansion near 30th Street at about 7 p.m. Wednesday night.
“He swerved into me,�?the Mercedes driver said. “He hit me and he looked like he lost control of the car.�?
