6 mean plead not guilty to multiple East Bay burglaries

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY (KRON) — Six men accused in a string of gang-related break-ins and home invasion robberies across the East Bay have pleaded not guilty to their charges on Tuesday.

They could all face life in prison because the charges carry firearms and gang enhancements, according to Contra Costa County Superior Court documents.

The men, Tarell Brown, 19, Ronald James Fluker III, 19, Bobby Ray Williams, 20, Tommie Ray Woods, 19, Torion Demonte Young, 18, and Marrico Teyon Williams, 19, are all accused of being members of Richmond’s Swerve Team gang.

They are also accused of committing home-invasion robberies, a car jacking and burglaries in Danville, Livermore and Fremont from March 24 to Sept. 29 of this year.

Investigators believe they might also be responsible for a series of other armed robberies that bear a resemblance to the crimes the men are currently charged with.

Orinda police Chief Mark Nagel has said the members of the Contra County District Attorney’s task force that arrested the men believe they could be responsible for the high-profile robbery and shooting of an Orinda school board member on Sept. 26, although they have not been charged with that crime.Bay City News contributed to this report.
