LOS ANGELES (AP) – Los Angeles firefighters say five people were hurt when two cars were struck by a commuter train at a crossing near downtown Los Angeles.

Four of the injuries in Saturday’s crash appear to be minor with one more serious.

Fire Department spokesman Shan Lenske says the crash happened near the University of Southern California campus, just south of downtown, shortly before 11 a.m.

The cause of the crash and other details were not immediately known.
