SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) – The San Francisco 49ers have signed corner back JaCorey Shepherd to a two-year contract and placed Chris Davis on injured reserve.
Davis hurt his knee last Thursday against Arizona and the Niners decided to make the move to replace him on Monday.
Shepherd was originally drafted by Philadelphia in the sixth round in 2015. He was hurt all of last season and spent time earlier this year on the Eagles’ practice squad.
Davis appeared in four games this season and registered two tackles and a half-sack.
