SANTA CLARA (KRON) — The disappointing season for the San Francisco 49ers continued Saturday afternoon as they have placed running back Carlos Hyde on the Injured Reserve List. They also promoted TE Brian Leonhardt to the active roster from the team’s practice squad.

Hyde came into the season as the team’s leading running back, taking over for 49ers legend Frank Fore. Hyde started in the team’s first seven games and had 470 yards and three touchdowns on 115 carries.

Hyde has been dealing with a stress fracture in his foot that’s caused him to miss games for the past few weeks. Shaun Draughn will be the team’s lead running back for the remainder of the season.
