The 49ers are 1-2 this season, losing their last two games. The Cowboys are 2-1, winning two straight after dropping their opener.
There was speculation following the 49ers blowout loss to the Seahawks last weekend that head coach Chip Kelly might make a change at quarterback.
Kelly said during his media briefing on Wednesday that Kaepernick “has been cleared medically to play in a game, he can go play in a game but is he the same Colin Kaepernick as he was in 2013 I think he said that yesterday that he is not that right now.”
