49ers Bruce Miller Arrested for Spousal Abuse

SANTA CLARA (KRON) — San Francisco 49ers fullback Bruce Miller was arrested by Santa Clara police for spousal abuse on March 5th.

49ers general manager Trent Baalke said in a statement, “The San Francisco 49ers organization is aware of the matter involving Bruce Miller. We were disappointed to learn of these reports and will do our due diligence in collecting all relevant information.”

This arrest comes after several high-profile violence cases involving NFL players, most notably the video that went viral of Raven’s player Ray Rice knocking out his fiancee in an Atlantic City elevator.

Since then, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has made an effort to clean up the NFL’s tarnished image.  An anti-abuse ad aired during the superbowl last month.

According to California’s domestic battery law, the legal definition is unlawful touching that is harmful or offensive.
