SANTA CLARA (KRON) – Four planes were caught violating the temporary flight restrictions put into place around Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara for Super Bowl 50, a Federal Aviation Administration official said.
The four small planes passed through the outer ring of the restricted area, between 10 and 32 miles away from the stadium.
The planes included a Beechcraft BE35, a Cessna 150, and a Cessna 172 that landed in Livermore. The fourth plane was a Van’s RV-6 that landed in Paso Robles, FAA spokesman Ian Gregor said.
It is unclear if any citations were given to the pilots.Bay City News contributed to this article
