A 4.5 earthquake has hit off the Northern California coast on Tuesday night, the United States Geological Survey said.
The quake struck 41.6 miles west of Petrolia at around 10:06 p.m. and had a depth of 0.2 kilometers (219 yards).
That’s about 55.3 miles west-southwest of Eureka.
