(BCN) — After 37 years of working in local government, Sonoma County Administrator Veronica Ferguson will retire next year, according to county officials.
On Tuesday, the County Board of Supervisors will be asked to approve the contract amendment for Ferguson, recognizing her intent to retire Feb. 3, 2017.
“We appreciate Veronica’s service to the County. She departs with our County in a strong fiscal position and providing exceptional service to our residence and visitors.” Chairman of the Board of Supervisors Efren Carrillo said in a statement.
County officials said they would be using an outside consultant to recruit for a new County Administrator and expect to hire the new person before Ferguson begins her transition out of the office in October.
