CONCORD (BCN) — A trio of suspects stole merchandise from a supermarket in Concord on Sunday evening and a security guard was injured trying to prevent the crime, police said on Monday.

The three men were arrested after the incident, which Concord police officers were dispatched to at about 7:45 p.m. Sunday at a Grocery Outlet store at 5434 Ygnacio Valley Road.

What was initially reported as a hit-and-run incident was determined to be a security guard having her arm pinned in the door of a vehicle, police said.

The security guard was attempting to recover merchandise stolen by three men but she was dragged a short distance when her arm was pinned in their fleeing vehicle, causing her to suffer an injury.

The suspects, whose identities were not immediately provided by police, were later found by police around 5 miles away on Saint Philip Court.

They were arrested on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy and were booked into Martinez Detention Facility.
