NOVATO (KRON) — Three people were cited after helping an underage decoy buy alcohol during a police sting.

Wednesday evening Novato police officers and an agent from the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control took part in a minor alcohol access prevention operation.

During the operation, an underage decoy went into bars and liquor stores and tried to buy alcohol.

The group went seven different locations.

Of those, five asked for and checked the identification of the decoy.

Jasmine Yepez, an employee at Grocery Outlet, and Steve Hart at the Viking bar both served the minor decoy.

They were both issued tickets.

That wasn’t the only sting held Wednesday night.

21 people were “shoulder tapped” and asked to help the minor decoy buy alcohol.

Of the 21, one person, David Mihailoff, agreed to buy alcohol for the decoy.

He was cited and released.
