SALINAS (BCN) — Three men were injured in two similar, separate shootings less than a mile apart in Salinas on Wednesday, police said.
Around 7:40 p.m. Wednesday, two 19-year-old men were working on a car in front of a home in the 1100 block of Green Street where an older gray Honda sedan stopped in front of the residence, police said.
One person from the sedan stepped out of the car and fired five to six rounds at the men, according to police.
One of the men was injured in his thigh and suffered graze wounds to his hip, arm and nose, according to police.
He was transported to a hospital for injuries not considered life-threatening, police said.
The other man suffered graze wounds to his right torso and hand, police said.
The shooting is believed to be gang-related, according to police.
Shortly after 9:30 p.m., a 32-year-old man was working on his car on Bardin Circle where a green, older model Honda Accord stopped at a driveway, according to police.
A passenger in the Honda shot six rounds at the man, who was struck in the knee and suffered a graze wound to his arm, police said.
The man was treated for his injuries, which were not considered life-threatening, according to police.
The victim had no gang affiliations, police said.
In both shootings, the suspects did not exchange words with the victims, according to police.
